Beard Transplant
Beard transplant or beard implants is the process of taking hair from one part of the body and transplanting them to your jawline. Similar to hair transplantation, it may entail either an FUE or FUT approach. Either approach, hair first needs to be harvested before implanting each follicle into the area.
Advices before the procedure:
• Refrain from smoking for one week prior to and one week after
• your procedure.
• Stop taking Aspirin, Vitamin E, or any multivitamins.
• Avoid drinking alcohol.
• Do not over-expose yourself to the sun.
• Have a light breakfast, but no coffee or caffeinated beverages
• Bringing a family member (or friend) with you to drive you home.
During:
You will be given a local anesthetic before the harvesting begins. Once harvesting has been done, the surgeon will then implant the follicle individually and carefully to the area of your face, shaping your new beard as planned prior to the procedure.
You may need a day to recover from the beard implant surgery. Tiny crusts may form around each newly implanted follicle but flake off within the next few days. Do not pick them.
In about 10- 15 days, you should be able to start shaving as per normal.
Do expect hairs to fall off after about 2-3 weeks. the hair should regrow.
The transplanted hairs can be expected to fall out two weeks after the surgery and begin to grow back in about three months and will continue to grow normally after this time.
Once the hairs begin to grow, you will be able to see the results. Full results in about 8-10 months.
