Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

A light therapy targetted age spots, sun damage, freckles, birthmarks, varicose veins, rosacea, hair removal. With the use of laser lights, IPL releases lights of various wavelengths like photo flashes. Scattered and less focus as compared to laser, IPL can penetrate down to the second layer of the skin (dermis) without causing harm to the outer layer (epidermis). Thus, less damaging to the skin. The pigment then absorbs the light energy, converting in to hear which then breaks down the unwanted pigments and/or destroys hair follicles.

While IPL can be used on any part of the body, it tends to be less effective on uneven areas or for anyone with thick, raised scaring and darker skin tones. For hair, it tends to be more effective for those with darker hair color.
