Radiofrequency treatment for Skin and Body Tightening (External)
Radiofrequency energy (RF) is a form of electromagnetic current that generates thermal energy and delivered through various tissue types. Upon absorption, the waves safely heat up the skin tissue without damaging the outer layers. The heat increases skin metabolism while stimulating collagen and elastin production for cell renewal, reducing the appearance of fine lines and loose skin. This technique can induce remodeling effects on the tissues.
Typically two types of methods, external or internal. An external RF can induce skin tightening by stimulating the production of collagen from the heating of tissues without incision. Usually, a solution is applied to the skin before passing a probe over the surface. Gently heating the tissues to the desired temperature
Treatment names include: KonturMD
Other potential benefits that it can be used include face and body contouring and face slimming by improving skin laxity, sagginess. The induced heat increases the ability to break down stored stubborn fats, renewing the contours of the face and body.
Thorough cleansing of the area (i.e face) should be done prior to the treatment. Following, a handheld device that is emitting radiofrequency will then be direct to the area of treatment. Expect to feel a warm sensation that is typically tolerable.
The safety of application is highly dependant on the skill and experience of the practitioner. Definitely choose an experienced doctor such as a certified surgeon to perform the treatment.
